I choose this flag because the white stands for peace and the black crown stands for freedom and the red stands for the people who die for there country.
This flag inspire me because in New Zealand is in peace and freedom right now.
Wow! What a creative flag you have designed. I really like how you have represented peace and freedom. These nouns successfully describe the nature of New Zealand and deserve to be represented on our national flag. The colours you have used remind me of the Maori flag. I believe that representing Maori on our national flag is very important as they are the native people of New Zealand.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your post and look forward to reading many more over the Summer Learning Journey.

Annyounghaseyo Sione, my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with you over the summer break.
I really like the flag you’ve created and the meaning behind the colours you’ve chosen to include in your new design of the New Zealand flag. I think it’s wonderful you thought to include the soldiers who fought for our country.
Maybe next time you could focus on including some sort of symbol, shape or colour to represent our Māori people whom I think are quite important to our country’s history and identity.
I’ve used koru to represent our Tangata Whenua in my own flag design sketch because they use koru to tell stories in their Ta Moko (tattoos) and traditional carvings. What would you add to your design to represent Māori people of Aotearoa?
You’ve made a great start to the Summer Learning Journey, I look forward to reading more of your blog posts over the summer holidays.
Kia ora Sione,
